Learn the rules of Pyramid Solitaire

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Take a closer look while playing

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Use the example to check your reasoning.

The purpose of your moves

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. The example below illustrates a decision.

The steps to play

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Choosing and moving on screen

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use one clear input at a time.

Follow the example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Verify the rule before continuing.

Keep this in mind

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
