Know the goal in Spider Solitaire

Bring your attention to one round of Spider Solitaire. Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Two decks, one/two/four suits; fill every column before a ten-card stock deal. Free solo play, no wagering.

Take a closer look while playing

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Notice the feedback after each input.

Understand the aim

Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Follow these playing steps

  1. Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Using the playing area

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

An example to follow

A mixed-suit descending stack cannot move as one group. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Read the matching step again.

Pay attention to this rule

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
